The Donington Curse
Roncaglia spins badly! Bucalo hits everything! Kinay flies across the track! Read all about it!
It’s been a hard day’s fight with bad luck and other disasters this week at Donington for the fourth round of the BTCC Championship. Despite the titanic efforts of the mechanical engineer and Galaxy Racing Emperor Omer Kinay in order to remove the soap under the Nissan Primera wheels, his teammates Dario Bucalo and Gianluca Roncaglia could barely take advantage of it.
Kinay itself, by the way, had to struggle to gain his 102 after three weeks where all his opponents ended their races in cries, shock and awe and hours after he passed the finish line. It was rumoured that in the fourth race of the week Kinay was so fast that he wasn’t even touching the ground with his wheels, like in the cartoons, but it was reported then that it was only due to a ping issue that pinned poor Kinay in the back ranks. Still, he firmly holds the 1st place in the overall standings of the Championship.
But, Bucalo and Roncaglia couldn’t avoid the terrible consequences of the infamous Donington Curse, and had their bad times during all the week. Bucalo hitted everything in range like a slippery flipper ball, Roncaglia spinned all the time like a record / a classic dancer. They could only achieve a 3rd place (Bucalo) and a win with a wall hit (Roncaglia). Bucalo in particular was expected for astounding performances after his brilliant win last week in Zandvoort. Will they be able to complete a decent race before the summit at Summit Point?
