Driving Beyond the Wall
The current championships of this amazing SRS season are entering on the final straight after the fourth racing week, with tons of thrill for the 4Fun guys. The headline goes obviously to the 4Fun en plein in the Lausitzring’s Skoda Octavia race thanks to Omer Kinay and Matteo Venuti, ended with a parade on the finish line that acknowledges the skills and the talent of this two outstanding racers – please, blow your nose and hold back your tears. Asked if he was disappointed about the second place, Venuti replied “I am always in a position I like, and sometimes I like to be second” to the astonished and speechless reporters at the press conference. Dario Bucalo and Gianluca Roncaglia also decided then to go for a 1st and a 2nd place, but they hadn’t a chance since they couldn’t find any Server 4 race available throughout the week. Maybe next time, kids! With all four 4Fun guys in the fastest laps top 10 and with an all Italian overall podium so far (Andrea Giusto is leading, followed by Roncaglia and Venuti), the 4Fun team asked to SRS admins to change the name of the series from “Skoda Octavia Cup” to “Italian with Turkish-Canada based addiction 4Fun Skoda Octavia Cup”, but the request was unexpectedly rejected.

As for Omer Kinay, he had unfortunately to skip the Cupra weekly race since at the scheduled race time he was busy with four conference calls in five different languages, but was at least able to get two wins out of two tries with the Octavia. However, Kinay had to face a strange issue, as soon as his overclocked monitor turned to black only seconds before the start of a racing session [this is really happened; Editor’s note]. In order to avoid such issues in the future, Kinay decided to rent a multiplex cinema and project his races on the big screen in front of the adoring audience (entrance ticket: 2,50 Canadian dollars. Taking notes on Kinay’s driving style during the race is strictly forbidden). Don’t forget to book your seat timely!
Moreover, Kinay decided to practice for the racing week playing FIFA 21 [this is also happened; Editor’s note], saying that setupping 11 soccer players pleases his mind and that he likes seeing his oversteering shots puzzle the goalkeeper. Kinay’s choice, anyway, started a fan-fight with PES adept Dario Bucalo, ended with a one-on-one soccer challenge easily won by Kinay, whose shots to the goal had a much better racing line. However, Bucalo didn’t get discouraged after this soccer defeat, and despite a pair of wall hits – being a fair racer, he immediately sent an apologize PM to the wall – could get a 2nd and two 3rd places with the Octavia – as solid as a wall results. As a champagne bottle heavily shaked, Bucalo is still missing his long waited second SRS win. As soon as the bottle will be uncorked, probably all the champagne will pour out and not a single drop will remain. Nevermind, we will party even with a dry mouth!

A good week, in the end, also for Gianluca Roncaglia, that could get a hard-to-catch win in Lausitzring after a couple of troubled races, counting one bad mistake and one disconnection while being in first place with a wide advantage on the second. “We did a deep and complex analysis of Roncaglia’s races”, his teammates said “checking stats, telemetry, average lapping, car parameters and functionality… and the result of this long work is – he is dumb”. You’ll be also not surprised to hear that in the meantime Matteo Venuti grabbed his bunch of wins here and there, also performing with good results in the realm of the “really slow cars” with the Mini Cooper and the Fiat Panda. Venuti will be one of the favorites for the final win in the next slow series, that will be with bicycles, although “the King of slow cars” (© Matteo Venuti) Matheus Nolli already asked for a even slower series, to be held on skateboards. “No matter how a car is slow”, said Venuti, “I’m as fast as a slow one can be”. A heck of a slow racedriver, indeed!
