SRS Team Championship – Week 2 Report
The second week of the Championship has come to an end, with new certainties and twists. Let’s go immediately to see what happened!
Certainities first: the TradePriceCars Team is serious about this Championship! The TPC guys collected an impressive streak of wins and overall excellent results, showing also an internal challenge for the leadership between Simon Speth and David Iglesias. Speth gets on top and thanks to his 5 clean victories, the best time in race (right before Iglesias) and the second best time in qualifying (behind Iglesias) keeps the title of MVP of the week, only lacking 0,5 points for getting the full scors. Amazing!
Just less than 3 points separate David from his teammate, will he be able to do better than him next week? Or will Michael Martin (maybe with a pass on the outside?) and Sergio Mendez (returning from a week pause) also join the TPC internal fight?
Another certainty is the reconfirmation of the GentDrivers in the second place of the General Standings, despite a relatively disappointing week in which they only had the fifth best score (82 pts). Will the gentlemen be able to reconfirm or will they be the next twist?
But now let’s move on to the surprises, starting with the team that improved the most in the standings: Italia Racing Team! In Italy they show off a superlative performance, hitting a double on the podium, with the first SRS win for Stefano Del Grande right before Matteo Deambrogio, also grabbing his first SRS podium. Congratulations to both of you, celebrate, but get ready for next week, there is the third place in the standings to defend!
The 4Fun Sim Racing Team slips to fourth place, since despite the improvement in comparison with the first week was unable to keep up with the IRTs guys. It is rumored that Dario Bucalo is thinking of changing team, after being spotted at Le Mans with the Del Grande brothers, while the good Gianluca Roncaglia drags the team with 2 wins in Imola. Will the 4Fun guys be able to regroup and climb the leaderboard?
Drive To Survive also is hitted hard from the exploits of the IRT team, but is still third in the weekly ranking with 86 pts, 12 more than last week. Martin Faber, Maurice Klerken and Amitesh Rao were seen inside their garage late at night, amid the noise of wrenches and bolts: are they planning further improvements to carry out their revenge?
In sixth place we find the drivers of Team Havoline, who populated Imola during this week, giving a nice glance with their yellow-black liveries almost always together on the grid. The team also gets the first win, grabbed by an excellent Michal Janak who will now have to show his teammates the way to success on the home circuit of Most!
The PleasePushMe Simracing Team ends then up the rankings table. Thanks to the experience gained in the previous week the PPM guys could get 11 points more. The improvements are solid, but will they be enough to keep up with the other teams?
Now let’s all go to Czech land to follow the upcoming races in Most. See you next week!
