SRS Season 2021.2 Week 4 Recap
4th week of the season, the championship fights is becoming more intense, every single race.
ALFA ROMEO GIULIA TZ β Bridgehampton (US)
A critical race for the championship! Except for the 4th win in a row for Ted Hough, which seems to be the fastest with this car, behind Robert Duplantier ends on 2nd place, in front of Luis Henrique Caetano, who overtook Michal Janak on the penultimate lap of the race, stealing from him his first podium in the series. Meanwhile, Alex Nelson was involved in some crashes in the 1st lap, finishing only 11th. Due to those events, the championship had some big changes, with Robert Duplantier who clinched the 2nd place. The Frenchman was 3rd last week, which is occupied now by Jari Penttinen. 4th place for Alex Nelson, who still can finish on the podium, since he is just 6 points behind Jari. 5th Andrzej Gruszka, three points in front of Janak.

FERRARI 599XX EVO β Paul Ricard WTCC (FR)
A strange race here in France, where Marc LoGiudice won by 6 seconds on Estefano Barrera Rodriguez. 3rd place for Austin Ogonoski, who lost the chance of doing a perfect championship. The podium of the race, that is just the reversed top 3 in the championship, were too fast compared to the other drivers, leaving Johnny Major, 4th, with a 14 seconds gap. Austin, Estefano and Marc are respectely separated by 31 and 24 points. 4th Emiliano Videla, just 3 points behind this week’s winner. 5th James Leeder.

HONDA S800 RSC β Vallelunga Classic (IT)
This Tuesday, Michal Janak was under the effects of some steroids (not like Andrea Iannone). The Czech won the race, ending the temporary domination of David Iglesias, 2nd. 3rd place for Robert Duplantier. Behind the podium, Philip Clegg, who ended in front of Alex Nelson, who had once again a bad 1st lap, this time he spun on …… In the championship, David Iglesias is, of course, still leading with a 27 points gap on Robert Duplantier, who is the 1st in a close championship fight between him, Alex Nelson, 3rd, who lost another place and 4th Michal Janak, who had a fruitful race, gaining two places on Steen Toudal (missed the race) and Jari Penttinen, 5th.

MASERATI & PORSCHE GT4 β Calabogie Stadium (CA)
Nick Barknecht wins the 4th round of the GT4 championship! A really close race saw Nick, Riley Gallardo and Alex Nelson fighting each other, ending the race with a gap separating the three of just 0.637 seconds. In the championship, Alex Nelson is still leading, but the gap between him and Riley Gallardo is decreasing every race. Now he is just 5 points behind. 3rd place for Javier Brandao, 4th Daniel de Mena and 5th James Leeder.

FERRARI 288 GTO β Monza (IT)
In a championship with 6 races only on italian tracks and, of course, in one of the most classic Ferrari car, an italian domination was necessary. Like the last weeks, Giuseppe Iaria won the race, and for the first time Matteo Venuti ends on the podium, 2nd. Fun fact: Every lap was led by them. 3rd place for a surprising Andrzej Gruszka, best result so far for him too. In the championship Giuseppe Iaria is currently on the top with the maximum amount of points (408). 2nd place for Robert Duplantier. Not the best race for him, a 4th place with two incident points. 3rd Matteo Venuti, who gained a place on Michal Janak, who had a pretty bad race (6th) due to a 1st lap contact. 5th Andrzej Gruszka.

MCLAREN 650S GT3 β Mosport (CA)
It has been, without any doubt, one the most dominated race of the week. This time, by the Iglesias-Venuti tandem. They were much faster than the other drivers on the grid, lapping almost 1 second faster per lap of Michael Post, 3rd at 22 seconds from the two “speed-runners”. In the championship, of course, David and Matteo are 1st and 2nd, with 11 points separating them. Then an 82 points gap and we find Michaek Post, who got the first podium of the championship. 4th Michael Martin and 5th Wayne Francis. Unluckily Pedro Marques had some problems when he tried to join the server, and he felt down to 6th place in the standings.

PORSCHE BATTLE β Kyalami (ZA)
It was a good fight between David Broomhead (old Porsche) and James Leeder (new Porsche), but the old one won over the modern car! No one was able to match their pace, in fact Wesley Chan, 3rd, ended ~43 seconds behind these two aliens. In the champiosnhip there’s an exciting battle between James and David, just 8 points between them. 3rd place for Don Debienne (5th in the race), 4th Rick Longano and 5th Sean Seebran.

MINI COOPER JCW CHALLENGE β Kyalami (ZA)
4th race, 4th different winner. This time, Lucas Biberacher won the race, against Nick Barknecht. 3rd place for Tommaso Gatti, who managed to get a good race, after a nice fight against Manuel Villa and James Tumilty. I was watching James’ live of the race, and when the driver with the hottest rig in the world, watched the standings. no one couldn’t believe this. James Tumilty is the leader of the championship! He is just three points in front of Anthony Dawson, who got lots of incident points in Friday’s race. 3rd Tommaso Gatti, 4th Francisco Labrado just in front of Christopher Godfrey.

LOTUS 49 β Fuji Classic (JP)
Two classy races at the old Fuji circuit, with an average of more than 210 km/h. Both races were won by Robert Duplantier, but behind, we had loads of fun! In the first race, we had a terrifying fight for the podium, where, after an incredible last lap, Matteo and Berci overtook each other three times. The second race, saw a brilliant Rob Russo ending 2nd, in front of Rico Haas. The championship, race after race, is becoming more interesting. Behind the absolute domination of Robert Duplantier, we have a good show, with the three drivers from 2nd to 4th (Rico Haas, Michal Janak and Matteo Venuti) in only 8 points. 5th Rob Russo, with 350 points.

SEAT CUPRA TCR β Kyalami (ZA)
David Iglesias is leading another championship (three so far), in one of his best season so far. With his 15 wins, he has a pretty good advantage on his teammate Simon Speth, tied for the wins with Justin Barouky (12 both). 4th place for Maurice Klerken, in front of Martin Faber (5th).

TOYOTA GT86 β Calabogie Stadium (CA)
Wilfrid Paduano is on fire! He is the most succesful on the championship, with 15 wins. 2nd place for Daniel Lorente, 11 wins, with still some hopes to win the title. 3rd Victor Garcia de Vega, with 6 wins. 4th Norbert Fekete, who didn’t remember the 5-races rule, doing 6 races. He still got 101 total points. 5th Roman Bisanz with 4 wins on his 7 races, a bit less than the other guys up in front.

FORMULA ARGENTINA β Donington National (UK)
It’s once again an Italian 1-2! Filippo di Maggio remains the leader of the championship, with 13 wins. 2nd Andrea Giusto, with 9. Te other two drivers with a 408 are Justin Barouky and Erik Zdovc, with 8 and 4 wins. 5th Ryan Thomas, who got two 90 points races in the first two weeks.

CHEVROLET C7R EURO β Buriram (TH)
Low participation here in Thailand, byt even without it, we had some great races! Hugo Hekkenberg, of course, is leading the championship, with still the maximum amount of points so far, 408. 2nd Martin Kraajenbrink, with 4 total wins. 3rd John Gibson, who still waits for his 1st win of the championship. 4th Andrzey Gruszka, who pays a lot the week at the Nordschleife, where he managed to get just 55 points. 5th Martijn van Bommel.

CHEVROLET C7R ASIA β Imola (IT)
Great week for the leader Victor Solanes, where he managed to get three wins out of the seven total races! 2nd John Gibson, who increases his total wins to four. 3rd Mika Hakala, 4 points in front of Timofey Bykov. 5th Victor Posada.

CHEVROLET C7R AMERICA β NΓΌrburgring Nordschleife (DE)
At the Nordschleife, a good race is always important. And this, for Austin Ogonoski and Thomas Muller, is known. They won the two races this week! Behind, a good fight for the 2nd place between Riley Gallardo and Emiliano Videla, separated by 4 points. 4th James Pendry, who got his 1st seasonal podium on the 1st race, and 5th Eduardo Sa, who got only 46 points.
