2nd SRS Team Championship – Week 2 Report
The second round of the Second Edition of the SRS Team Championship powered by 4Fun Sim Racing Team – sounds of fireworks in the background – is over, and the competition is entering its core, with all teams practicing and working on their cars (if not with fixed setup, of course) in order to increase performances. Great fights as usual in Silverstone (BTCC) and in Most (BMW 235i), so let’s see what happened last week and be prepared for some surprises!

For the second time in a row the Broomgang team b(r)ooms and gets the highest step of the podium! Luke Bouwmeester (111 pts.) and the rainbow racer David Broomhead (105,5 pts.) won all their four races, two each, achieving a 108 pts. team score. The Gang increased the gap on the TradePriceCars guys, third in the week (101 pts.) thanks to a brilliant performance by Michael Martin (four wins and 110,4 pts. for him) and the hidden but consistent pace of Sergio “The Hidden Man” Mendez, who will also try to hide the cars’ keys to the Broomgang guys in the next rounds. The second place of the week goes anyway to the 4Fun Sim Racing team, not only thanks to “Mr. Primera” Omer Kinay (three wins, and still leading the overall championship) but also to the brilliant week of Dario Bucalo (one win, 99,2 pts.) and Gianluca Roncaglia (three wins, 98,3 pts.), and above all thanks to Matteo Venuti, that with his win and best laptime in race gets 114,5 pts. and is the MVP (“Matteo Venuti, Primera”) of the week. An overall outstanding team performance, indeed!
The first place off the podium goes to the Full Send Racing guys, once again leaded by Jason Jones (98,3 pts.) but confirming to be a solid and balanced team with Colin Chilibeck, improving his first week performance and getting 94 pts., and Giuseppe D’Andrea – another good week for him with 86,2 pts. In the fifth place time for the good manners of the GentDrivers guys, leaded by Roman Bisanz (95,5 pts. and a classy win for him), followed respectively by Lars Mars (86 pts.), Abdon Socias (a good 85,25 pts. for him) and Christopher Myles (73 pts.). Well, take a gentle bow to the gentlemen! Sixth place, confirming the placement of the last week and still showing consistency, for the HR Racing guys, also having both a stand in the qualy best laps ranking. Nicholas Hall (85,7 pts.) had a good streak of placements, while Andrew Roberts (80,2 pts.) was penalized from an unlucky first try but ended his week with two races above 90 points, also with a win.
The seventh place goes the massive, fabulous broadcasters Thunder Crew Sim Racing guys, still a bit in credit with luck but getting first place on post-race analysis and chat in their streams. The week team’s leader is Evgeni Arkov (87,8 pts. and a good second place for him), followed by Martin Sorg (84,4 pts.) Alex Geier (77,5 pts.), Jochen – I’m sorry, Jack Mike Mass (77 pts.) and Henrik Kjellberg (75,5 pts., improving his last week performance). Let’s go, guys, the best is yet to come! Eight place confirmed also for the sweet Pista & Fichi fruits, once again leaded by Andrea Giusto (83 pts. with a win and a second place but also a 49 pts. in his first race) respectively followed by Andrea “Meat Is Murder” Piovanelli (a third place for him) Simone Saviolo (with a full grid of five races), Simone Scuola and Davide Ramo, still waiting for bigger slices of pizza in the upcoming rounds. On ninth place we have a table with no more food and drinks on it and none sitting around, as the Italia Racing Team ate too much, went to sleep and did not race this week! Waiting for a comeback after drinking some digestive infusion, guys! On tenth place and looking for a raising spring is the Rose Team, showing some good results but once again a bit struggling on track. Anyway, Massimiliano Cazzaniga improves the best team performance so far (78,6 pts.), followed by Mauro Castelli, Francesco Senni and Davide Schinetti. Spread roses on your opponents, guys!
And in the second week we have an ex aequo on the first place with TradePriceCars and 4Fun Sim Racing paired on top with 90 points! Still, no surprise on hearing that the TPC guys are there, a little more surprising is the fact that none of them had laptime bonuses! Anyway, Simon Speth is leading the team’s results with three wins and 98,8 total points, followed by Michael Martin and Alex Leif, while David Iglesias played the role of Sergio Mendez and didn’t race this week. And despite the perduring attempts of sabotage by Gianluca Roncaglia (75 pts. and a parking ticket for him), the 4Fun team had once again an amazing performance from Matteo Venuti, that with two wins and two placements in the best lap rankings gets 104 pts. and is also in the BMW series the MVP (“Most’s Most Valuable Player”) of the week completing an outstanding week – in general, since this is quite normal for him. Once again on the podium are the GentDrivers, leaded by Roman Bisanz (95 pts. and two placements on the best lap rankings but no wins for him) and followed by Lars Mars, Christopher Myles (a good 90,33 pts.), Tim Masson (a win but also a 57 pts. race for him) and Abdon Socias.
And once again off the podium, the Drive to Survive guys had a wonderful week from Martin Faber (five wins, although with no fast laps bonuses), that is alive and kicking for the overall championship win, and had a good 88 pts. from Amitesh Rao, but also a fading Maurice Klerken, that raced only once (66 total pts. for him) since he’s not happy with the bar in the pit area running out of Diet Coke. On fifth place and back(etti) in action, the PleasePushMe team had a very good week from Nicolò Bachetti (97,3 points, a win and also very good second place in qualy laptimes) with Simone Pinto and Stefano Casamonti in search for a bit more of luck. Sixth place for the Team Havoline guys, that despite sone good results from Matheus Nolli (95,5 pts.) and the King of Modeling Michal Janak (93,6 pts.) missed the win this week, while Juan Alberdi and Eduardo Odriozola are still looking to find their pace – hold on, guys! Seventh place, then, for the Pista & Fichi guys, that could get some good results from Andrea Piovanelli and Davide Ramo but are asked to add more figs in their racing recipe in the upcoming weeks.
See you all next week and have great fights in Sentul and in Calabogie!
