2nd SRS Team Championship – Week 6 Report
Well, it seems yesterday when this season started, isn’t it? It’s been six weeks of intense racing and great fun, and now it’s time to celebrate the winners of the 4Fun Team Championship and also this wonderful community. No puns – maybe, not sure – just results and fireworks before the TC’s End of the Season party in Tim Masson’s estate! Dario Bucalo will be organizing the whole event; the Italia Racing Team guys, supported by Andrea Piovanelli, will take care of the barbecue and provide the drinks – a list of 102 cocktails, as the points of a clean win, is ready to be explored from dusk to dawn – and David Broomhead will spread colored air balloons all over the place. (A bio-vegan buffet will also be held by Maurice Klerken.) The Rose Team, as Cars n’ Roses, will go on stage for a 90’s hard rock covers concert; Sergio Mendez will also help with first aid for those who will try all the 102 cocktails on the menu. Remember, don’t drink before driving and go on with the celebrations!
Note: The winning teams will be awarded with a beautiful digital 4Fun Team Championship trophy, 3D printable, designed by Omer Kinay. If you want to have yours, all you have to do is win a championship!

As easily predictable, the final win for the BTCC series goes to the Broomgang aliens, that ended their performances with an astounding 106 pts. team score, despite Luke Bouwmeester’s only (winning) race. But the headlines are for David Broomhead, getting the full score (117 pts.) with two wins out of two races and the best laptimes both in qualy and in race, being also of course the MVP (“Most Variegated Person”) of the week when wearing his racing suit. Well, if it rains in Donington you know there will always be a rainbow on the finish line! Congrats to the B-Gang, who got 19 wins out of 25 total races and fully deserved the win and the trophy! On second place, both in week and final results, the TradePriceCars guys (97 pts.) delivered another high quality racing week thanks to Michael “M.M.” Martin (107,33 pts.), fighting until the last second for the individual championship win, and Sergio “E.R.” Mendez (89,5 pts.), able to get a win also thanks to the aid of his cat Pikachu on the clutch pedal. Third week and overall place for the 4Fun Sim Racing guys (97 pts.), with Omer “Primera Prime Time” Kinay legitimating his championship win after a gallant fight with Michael Martin and collecting 114,17 pts., followed by Gianluca Roncaglia (108,75 pts. and three wins), Matteo “One Shot” Venuti (93 pts. and a win in his first and only race) and Dario “Mr. Manager” Bucalo (73,5 pts.), who raced while talking on the phone and chatting on organizing the 4Fun Grand Prix with less than zero practice and only trusting in his adamantine talent. Congrats for getting a place on the podium to you all!
And, of course, congrats to the Full Send Racing guys for his fourth week and overall place and a championship ignited by solid fuel. Jason Jones is leading the pack with his 102 pts. and a win, while Giuseppe “Showroom” D’Andrea (95 pts. and also a win) and Colin “Cold Chili” Chilibeck (89 pts.) showed once again their consistency. On fifth place (sixth overall), the ever improving HR Racing guys (94 pts.), that smelling Brit air had remarkable performances in Donington, with Nicholas Hall (97,5 pts.) entering the Hall of Hall’s Fame with a 102 win and Andrew Roberts (90,5 pts) once more improving his past week’s results. Sixth place (but fifth overall) for the Lord Brummels of racing, the GentDrivers guys, getting a superb week from Roman Bisanz (104 pts. and two wins out of two races) but also from Lars Mars (100,5 pts. and also a win) with the support of Christopher Myles (78 pts.) and Abdon Socias (76,4 pts.), while Tim Masson was overloaded on arranging the table for the TC party and also sending instructions to the community on how to distinguish the red wine and the white wine glasses from the water goblets. Cheers to you all!
On seventh place, also in the overall standings, the Thunder Crew Sim Racing guys (82 pts.), as compact as a dream stream team should always be: Alex “Poker Face” Geier was under the gun but with the turn of a friendly card on the river got 91 pts., while Jack Mike Mass (86,5 pts.), Henrik Kjellberg (77,67 pts.), Martin Sorg (77 pts.) and Evgeni Arkov (76,5 pts.) are a poker on themselves. Weekly eight place (ninth overall) for the Italia Racing Team guys (75 pts.), putting every time fresh forces on the run, depending on who is on turn on the grill for the week. So this time no spare ribs with BBQ sauce but a plate full of tarmac for Marco Di Paolantonio (81 pts., hopefully waited for big results in the future), Stefano Del Grande (75,5 pts) and Fabio Blascovich (69 pts.), while Paolo Del Grande and Matteo Deambrogio had a backgammon session while sipping some 25 years old rhum. Well, the IRT knows best! Ninth place (tenth – last but not least – overall) for the rude, raw and sensitive (surprise!) Rose Team guys (75 pts.), leaded by Davide Schinetti (76 pts.) but hanging on every word from Mauro “Iron Irony” Castelli, who learned to fly backwards on track with awesome results, while Francesco Senni and Massimiliano Cazzaniga were engaged on the sound check for their TC party gig. Tenth place (but eight overall) to the Pista & Fichi guys (74 pts.), not in their best week indeed, getting 74,4 pts. by Davide Ramo (with a good second place but also a hard-to-see 35 pts. -!-) while Andrea Giusto was KIA in the Donington jungle (74 pts.) and Simone Saviolo (78,6 pts.) went up and down in his results like – well, like an helicopter, that’s it, scouted by Andrea Piovanelli and Simone Scuola off the airport after landing. Anyway, congrats to you all, guys!
That goes without saying: it can’t be a championship without a win of “The Podium Coverers”, that means the TradePriceCars guys, that celebrate their triumph with another stunning week and 101 total team points. A winning ride from first to last week for a superb team, so hats off to David Iglesias (115,5 pts., only missing by tenths the full score and obviously MVP (“More Victories, Please”) of the week), Alex Leif (110 pts. and a splendid two wins out of two races), Simon Speth (94,75 pts. and also his n – my abacus doesn’t go that far – championship win) and Michael “BMWCC” Martin (84,5 pts). Congratulations, you creepy aliens! On second place, although only on fourth place for the week, the 4BMW Sim Racing team (81 pts.), getting 82 pts. from Matteo “One Shot Twice” Venuti and a (probably fake) third place from Gianluca “BM-Who?” Roncaglia (80 pts.), also with only one try. And, on a close ending and with only a 2 points advantage on the fourth, a brilliant third place (also in the week) for the brave Team Havoline guys (82 pts.), getting 99,5 pts. from Matheus “5:00 AM” Nolli and 91 pts. from Michal “Modelling” Janak (also congrats for the astounding zero incidents Caterham championship win!), as usual fully supported by Juan “Modding Modelling” Alberdi (80,33 pts.) and Eduardo “Ozone” Odriozola, despite a really, really, really à la Dario Bucalo unlucky week (56,75 pts.). Congrats guys, and welcome to the podium stars!
On fourth place (second for the week), as previously said only with a 2 points gap, the honoris causa Peers of the British Realms GentDrivers fellas (83 pts.), thanks to you-can-bet-on-him Roman Bisanz (once again 109,5 pts. and a win) and relying on the support of Abdon Socias (72,5 pts.) and Christopher Myles (66 pts. with a single unlucky race), while Lars Mars and Tim Masson were on a classified diplomatic mission at Buckingham Palace. On fifth place in the week (but sixth overall) the pushing PleasePushMe guys (73 pts.), once again leaded by Simone “Pins” Pinto (77 pts.), followed by Stefano “House on the Hill” Casamonti (74,22 pts., with a good improvement) and Nicolò “Step Back” Bachetti (68,67 pts.), still out of pace but – you can bet it – in greedy will of revenge and asking for a place among stars in the next championship. Sixth place (fifth overall) for the Drive to Survive, 70 pts. and no races for them. Well, we all are missing them: take a bow and a beer for Martin Faber, Amitesh Rao and Maurice “Big Face” Klerken, hope to see you back soon on track! And we’re also missing the Pista & Fichi guys (also with 70 pts. and no races, and overall seventh), but at least you’re assured that they’re having a good time since Andrea “Brasato” Piovanelli is cooking for the whole team (Davide Ramo, Andrea Giusto, Simone Scuola, Simone Saviolo).
And, once again, that’s all! A toast to the MVP of the Season Community, and see you all back on the track soon!
