3rd 4Fun Team Championship – Week 5 Report
After the fifth round once again we’re getting closer to the end of another thrilling Team Championship! Well, not so thrilling maybe: some teams are pretty boring with their constant wins, aren’t they? Let’s see what happened under the cherry blossoms in Tsukuba and after a thermal bath and a massage in (a) Spa!
Peugeot 106 Rallye Series – Weekly Standings
First of all, a praise to all the Peugeot championship participants, that this week got 12 wins, 7 second places and 3 third places out of 26 total races. Wow, the Team Championship drivers are quality drivers! And talking about quality, the Team Havoline gets once again three Michelin stars with their slow food wins, and also 111 team pts. Michal “Ducasse” Janak (105 pts.) missed the win since he had some trouble – he lost his brake pedal in his labyrinthine rig – but hitted some of the fastest laps, Matheus “Ramsay” Nolli (116,4 pts.) wins all his five races, gets the fastest laps in qualy and in race and is of course the MVP (“Matheus, Violent Punisher”) of the week. Well, let’s ask him to start from the pits in order to spice up a little the races! On second place, confirming and cementing the brilliant performances of the past weeks, the absolutely fast (hitting four spots out of four on the fastest laps table) Evolution Racing guys (107 pts.), getting an astounding 112 pts. with Pablo “Cyclops” Villarroel and also aremarkable 101,5 pts. from Juan “Gambit” Medina. Wow, they’re mutating week after week, slowly aiming at the top! On third place, jumping by 1 point on the podium, the solid GentDrivers guys (97 pts.): you will not be surprised on hearing that Roman “Byzantium” Bisanz (108 pts.) has won his two races, neither that Lars Mars (98 pts. and a win) and Abdon Socias (83,5 pts.) had a good week, nor that Simon Speth, Christopher Myles and Tim Masson were matching ties and shoes to their suits during the week. Gentlemen are often predictable, isn’t it?
On fourth place, dropping his place on the podium between sighs and sobs, the 4Fun Sim Racing guys (96 pts.), thriving on the serial winner Matteo “4Win” Venuti (107 pts., of course with several wins and fast laptimes) and with Gianluca Roncaglia (84 pts.) winning on his only try – if only he wasn’t that lazy! Fifth place, with some regrets, for the HR – hey, HR means Hall-Roberts! Dario Bucalo never misses a thing – Racing team (92 pts.), getting two excellent second places with Nicholas “Hal” Hall (98,5 pts.) but stepping back with Andrew “Rob” Roberts (86 pts.) in comparison with the previous week. Sixth place for the Hot Wheels guys (50 pts.) – well, they drank all the gasoline and are drunk since two weeks, so they didn’t race at all – and probably it was better they didn’t, but if you want to see some fire-eaters show, contact them!
Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Series – Weekly Standings
And, as the Radiohead says, no alarms and no surprises in the Porsche series, since the TradePriceCars guys (105 pts.) are still brutalizing the opponents in “minimum effort maximum result” style thanks to Alex “Lex” Leif (101,5 pts.), Simon “Spa” Speth (102,5 pts.) and of course David “Igloo” Iglesias (110 pts.), freezing the contenders with a win and ranked fast laps and getting once again the MVP (“Magnificent Visiting Professor”) of the week. On the second place with 98 pts., and bravely fighting until the end of the champ, the Full Send Racing boomers, getting resounding results from Jason “Alien Rig” Jones (109,6 pts. thanks to three wins and fast laptimes, just inches behind Iglesias) with the full support of Colin “Death Star Rig” Chilibeck (94 pts.) and Giuseppe “Rig?” D’Andrea (90,33 pts.). To complete the podium, and with a scent of discreet perfume, the GentDrivers team (90 pts.), relying on the solid performances of Roman “By” Bisanz (99,5 pts. and a win), Christopher “My” Myles (85,75 pts. on four races) and Abdon “Sy” Socias (84,5 pts.).
On fourth place, once again with 83 pts., the Team Havoline guys confirm their solid results trend, starting from Matheus Nolli (not on his best week here but still capable of 90,75 pts.) and continuing with Michal Janak (87 pts.), Eduardo Odriozola (78 pts.) and Juan Alberdi (74,33 pts.). An overall praise to the Havoline guys, always performing very well on the track and on their way of completing an astounding season! On fifth place, and finally on an improving trend, the PleasePushMe guys (80 pts.) with Simone “One Pin” Pinto (87 pts.), Nicolò “I Was Back But I’m Back to a Step Back, I Hope I Will Be Back” Bachetti (79,5 pts.) and, racing only once, Stefano “C’mon” Casamonti (72 pts.) – we look forward for fireworks from you in the last week, fellas! On sixth place, getting 69 pts. and aiming to reach 70 pts. before the next Ice Age, the 4Fun Sim Racing guys, cool as ever with the usual one race-one win pattern from Matteo “Paganini” Venuti (87,5 pts.) and the usual no-race pattern from Dario “I’m No Racer” Bucalo. But, the 4Funs brilliantly overtook the Härsi Team, taking a break from racing this week while probably engaged in some Finnish rally; and the resigning Evolution Racing guys. Well, not bad, huh?
That’s all for the week, see you all on the final straight right before the chequered flag for the last round results from New Jersey Motorsport Park and Nürburgring and to proclaim the Team Championship winners. Stay tuned!
