SRS Season 2021.6 Week 4 Recap
The middle part of the season has been reached, and now here you are with the recaP for the 3rd week!
LEGENDS CAR โ Panama ๐ต๐ฆ
One week later, same results. Robert Duplantier wins at Panama for the 4th consecutive week, in front of Jari Penttinen, who set the fastest lap. He overtook Michal Janak on the 5th lap of the race. P4 for David Iglesias, after starting 6th. He passed Philip Clegg and some laps later Rob Russo, who ended 5th. This race has been one of the cleanest ever, with just a single contact made by a driver in all the grid. Impressive! Duplantier, of course, is leading the championship with 22 points more than Penttinen. 3rd place for Janak, with a safe gap of 23 points to mantain his P3 on Iglesias. 3 points behind him there’s Clegg. Zandvoort will be the track for the race of the next week!

FORMULA STUDENTS EVO โ Hockenheim Short2 ๐ฉ๐ช
A strange 1st at Hockenheim, which deprived David Broomhead and Russell Sobie a better result. Sobie crashed on his own into a wall, and Broomhead had some problems that led to his early retirement, then he continued to race. All of this gave to Saagar Bakshi his first ever win, ahead of Jay Gabriel and Juan Illanes, who made a great recovery. 4th place for Sobie, 8th at the end of the first lap. 5th place for Pasha Paterson, who gained 2 places on the final two laps, on Rob Russo and also Steve Walker, 3rd until the 18th lap. Despite all those events, the championship has not been changed a lot, with Broomhead still first, 8 points ahead of Sobie. 3rd Russo without any contacts so far. 11 points behind him there’s Gabriel, 6 ahead of Paterson who’s 5th. Calabogie Stadium will be the track for the next race!
Scary moment on the 2nd lap, where Greg Shimer lost his car just in front of Steve Walker and Russell Sobie
FORD ESCORT RS โ Tsukuba ๐ฏ๐ต
Michal Janak wins again! In a Ford Escort that seems to be perfect for his driving style, he took his 4th consecutive win in the championship, finishing ahead of Robert Duplantier and Matteo Venuti, who ended for the first time on the podium with this car, despite a contact at the start with Robert. 4th place for Lucas Biberacher, ahead of Rico Haas who was attacking him almost all the time from behind. Not an eventful race, just some crashes at the back on the first laps. In the standings, Janak is leading with 408 points, the maximum available. 31 points behind him sits Duplantier, who has 19 points on Haas. 4th place for Lucas Biberacher, who has a safe gap of 38 points on Danny Mueller. Red Bull Ring National will be used next week!

TATUUS FA01 โ Imola ๐ฎ๐น
Dramatic finish in the 4th round of the GTP championship! After a dominated race, the last lap fight between Javier Brandao and Riley Gallardo was going to be an epic fight, since they were 0.5 seconds apart. Until the end of the straight, where Javier lost the connection from the server, and retired. This gave to Riley his first win in this series, 20 seconds ahead of Kevin Woodward and Ryan Thomas, who started on pole and recovered from P10 taking 3 incidents. 4th place for Vicente da Silva, ahead of Pasha Paterson. Gallardo now increased his championship lead to 34 points on Emiliano Videla who couldn’t get a good result since his win at Monza. 3rd place for James Pendry, who retired from this race. This led Woodward to be just 2 points behind the podium. 7 points behind him there’s Derik Abrego. Tor Poznan will be the track for the next week!
Easy last lap for Riley Gallardo
MITSUBISHI LANCER EVO VIIIย TIME ATTACK โ Watkins Glen ๐บ๐ธ
Robert Duplantier wins at Watkins Glen! In the pits shuffle he ended ahead of Philip Clegg, who tried to go to the pits just before the start of the last lap, one later than Robert, and P3 for Michael Post, who collects his 1st podium of the championship. 4th place for Lucas Biberacher, ahead of last week’s winner Michael Martin, who was 2nd at the start but lost lots of positions due to a mistake. After the race, thanks to Duplantier’s 2nd win, he increases the lead on Clegg to 19 points and to 38 on Biberacher in 3rd. P4 for Martin, who is ahead of Christopher Magan with 91 points, since he missed the race. Imola will be the race for the next week!

RADICAL SR3 โ Silverstone GP ๐ฌ๐ง
What a race! David Iglesias won after a stunning performance in this race, overtaking Riley Gallardo and also Simon Speth at the 2nd lap. Then he drove really well, defending his position especially from Simon, who was all over his back for almost all the race. 4th place for Erik Axelsson ahead of Michael Post, who started in 8th place. After this race, the battle for the championship between Iglesias and Speth is even more open, with just a single point between them. Also the fight for the podium is really close, yet again by one point between Axelsson and Gallardo. 5th place for Alex Leif 37 points behind Gallardo and 5 on Guillaime Dubois, who’s 6th. Road America will be the track for next week!
The overtake which gave the win to David Iglesias
TARK ESTONIA-21 โ Thruxton ๐ฌ๐ง
James Leeder wins an absolutely banger of a race! With an overtake on the last lap, he won in front of David Broomhead by just 0.6 seconds, after swapping position 5 times in the race, at least by the end of the lap. Leonardo Montagnolli was leading until about mid race, and his retirement gave to Rick Longano a podium, ahead of Ihab Abbas and Jay Gabriel. Another close championship right here, with Broomhead 3 points ahead of Leeder, both with 2 wins. 3rd place for Gabriel, 17 points ahead of Longano, and Chris Saucier is 5th. New Jersey will be the track for the next week!
FORD TRANSIT โ Most ๐จ๐ฟ
Riley Gallardo wins at Most! Not the most (yeah i didn’t do it on purpose) exciting race, ending 1.6 seconds ahead of Pedro Figueiras. 3rd place for Jari Penttinen who finished ahead of Ted Hough, after managing to pass Sergio Mendez who made a mistake on the 5th lap. Philip Clegg was 5th in the opening stages after a great start, but lost a lot of time at the 4th lap, losing also many places. Even if they are racing with vans, we are having another exciting fight for the championship this season, with a single point separating Gallardo and Speth. 7 points behind Simon there’s Mendez, who has 9 points on Penttinen, who got his 2nd consecutive podium. 5th place for Clegg, with 336 points. Watkins Glen will be the track for next week, in how many laps will the race be completed?
Challenging, tricky, breathtaking battles. At 80 kph.
F1 2005 RENAULT VS MCLAREN โ Paul Ricard Blancpain ๐ซ๐ท
Not so much happened this week in the weekend series, with Garo Sarafian and Clemens Bauer as the winners of the two races. On Saturday, Sarafian won in front of Matteo Venuti and Clemens Bauer, who had to start from the pits. A day later the German dominated the race, winning by 48 seconds on Maciej Kaczmarek and Giuseppe Mangano. But the driver who got the most from this weekend was Venuti, who thanks to Lucas Biberacher’s retirement, he increased the championship lead to 26 points. 3rd place for Toni Zachow, with 38 points behind the leader. 4th place for Clemens Bauer, ahead of Jose Leonardo Gil Sierra, who missed this round. Barcellona GP will be the track for the next week!
Venuti might be 1st in the championship, but surely he isn’t the fastest with these cars.
ABARTH 500 ASSETTO CORSE โ Modena Fast ๐ฎ๐น
Another exciting fight for the lead of the championship between two Italians, Roberto Accurso and Andrea Giusto. Both are at 408 points and 8 wins, but the two more races done by Roberto pays off, since he collected 2 more podiums. 3rd place for Michal Janak, with 394 points and 2 wins. Out of the podium there’s Tim Masson with 3 wins, one more and wth 6 more points than Roman Bisanz who’s 5th. Red Bull Ring National will be the track for the next week!
GP3 SERIES โย Vallelunga Classic ๐ฎ๐น
Roman Smirnov’s win streak continues, now with 16 wins in a row! No one is able to match his pace, despite the publication of some top secret documents (his setups). Behind him, follows a nice group of drivers, capitanated by two Thundercrew drivers, Alex Geier (4 wins) and Martin Sorg (3 wins), tied with Kevin Pruscha, who has less 2nd places (2 vs 6). 1 points behind them there’s Handy Hanafianh, with two wins. Zandvoort will be the track for the next week!
Paul Smyth just after a win. He was the best of the rest (well, everyone except for Smirnov)
PORSCHE CAYMAN GT4 โย Donington National ๐ฌ๐ง
After this week the championship fight between Erik Sundstrom and Roberto Accurso seems to be just a distant memory, with 8 wins between them. 3rd plce for Riley Gallardo, with 4 wins and 1 podium. 1 point behind him sits Kevin Turner, 3 wins for him. Same number of wins for the 5th and 6th places occupied by Roman Bisanz and Tim Masson, tied at 398 points. Imola will be the track for the next week!

GT3 EURO โ Road America ๐บ๐ธ
Fredrik Soderstedt after 4 weeks is still leading the Euro championship with 408 points! Thanks to his 5 wins, now he has a 12 points gap on Lucas Biberachr, who’s ahead of Victor Posada despite his 4 wins. Out of the podium sits Matteo Venuti with 377 points, 69 more than Xavier Perronis who is 5th, with just a single podium in the opening week at Mugello. Calabogie will be the track for the next week!
GT3ย ASIAย โ Imola ๐ฎ๐น
In the race with most people so far in this championship, Devan Sharma wins! With this win, he is now 4th in the championship, just behind the names from the last two weeks, Emils Malkalns, Dario Cabrero and Zain Haider. Now 5th is Paul De Jong, who lost a position thanks to Devan’s win. Hopefully the Nordschleife will get a race next week.
GT3 AMERICAย โ Watkins Glen ๐บ๐ธ
A single race from the two of the american championship was valid for the points, and like the last weeks, Emiliano Videla takes the win at the Glen! 2nd place for Pasha Paterson, ahead of Kevin Pruscha. Out of the podium there’s Victor Posada, 41 seconds ahead of Greg Shimer in 5th. After this race, Videla still leads the championship, going probably into his 2nd consecutive 1-Hour american championship win. 26 points behind him sits Pruscha, with 11 more than Paterson. 4th place for Ryan Thomas who wasn’t able to race, ahead of Jacob Fraga. Laguna Seca will be the track for the next week!
