SRS Season 2021.6 Week 5 Recap
This season is coming to an end, and in some championships there are plenty of battlesfor the win and other positions!
LEGENDS CAR โ Zandvoort ๐ณ๐ฑ
Dramatic finish at Zandvoort! Jari Penttinen wins by just 0.090 seconds, after losing all the gap he had in the last few minutes, probably to save some fuel. At the end, Michal Janak almost got him, but the Finn took his first win in the championship. 2nd place for Janak, who had a contact at the start. 3rd place for Robert Duplantier, for the first time with the Legends car he didn’t win a race. 4th place for Philip Clegg, ahead of Rob Russo. The standings didn’t change so much after this race, with Duplantier leading with 500 points, 15 ahead of Penttinen, so he needs a P6 to win the championship 3rd place for Janak, with 468 points. P4 for Clegg, 37 points ahead of Russo. The last race of the championship will take place at Kemora!
The crazy finish between Jari Penttinen and Michal Janak
FORMULA STUDENTS EVO โ Calabogie Stadium ๐จ๐ฆ
Not a crazy race like the past ones with the Formula Students, who saw Martin Smith winning ahead of David Broomhead by 0.9 seconds, who took the pole position. 3rd place for Jay Gabriel, in front of Pasha Paterson who had a good battle with Russell Sobie (6th) and Juan Illanes. The 2nd place for Broomhead and the not optimal 6th place of Sobie leaves the Canadian on the top of the standings with 21 points, meaning that he needs just to finish a race in 9th place without incidents to win his 6th title. 3rd place for Rob Russo who still hasn’t got a single incidet during all the championship, 2 points ahead of Jay Gabriel. P5 for Paterson, 9 points behind Jay. VIR North will be the track for the last race of the championship!
FORD ESCORT RS โ Red Bull Ring National ๐ฆ๐น
Michal Janak wins at the Red Bull Ring! Despite a start in 4th place, he clinched a good win despite 2 contacts on the first few laps of the race. 2nd place for Robert Duplantier with 3 incidents, 10 seconds ahead of Rico Haas. He also got 2 incidents, meaning that technically looking at the points Lucas Biberacher got a 2nd place despite finishing 4th. 5th place for Danny Mueller. In the standings now Janak has 504 points, 38 more than Duplantier, he just needs to finish the race without incidents to finish in 1st place. 3rd place for Haas, 10 points ahead of Biberacher. 5th place for Mueller. Paul Ricard WTCC will be the last race of the season!
TATUUS FA01 โ Tor Poznan ๐ต๐ฑ
Another win for Riley Gallardo! Not a really dominant win like he is used to most of the times, since he ended with less than one second from Ryan Thomas, who set also the fastest lap. 3rd place for Emiliano Videla, who ended 1 second ahead of Kevin Woodward. 5th place after a great comeback, after an incident with James Pendry, for Martin Smith who overtook at the last lap Derik Abrego. After his 2nd win, Gallardo increases his championship lead to 40 points on Videla, meaning that he just needs to finish safely the race to win the championship. 3rd place with 13 more points than Derik Abrego, there’s Woodward. 5th place for Raul Juarez, 2 points ahead of Pendry. Mas du Clos will host the final race of the championship!

MITSUBISHI LANCER EVO VIIIย TIME ATTACK โ Imola ๐ฎ๐น
Christopher Magan takes his first ever win on SRS in an impressive way! Started 5th, he was second until Philip Clegg stopped for fuel at the end, giving him a victory in front of Lucas Biberacher! 4th place for Michael Martin ahead of Michael Post. Just 6th Robert Duplantier, who lost a lot of points thanks also to an incident at the start. After this round, Duplantier leads by just 9 points on Clegg, meaning that he has just to finish cleanly on the podium to win the championship, and 15 on Biberacher. 4th place for Martin. 5th place for Christopher Magan, it’s a shame that he missed last week’s race. Mugello will be the last round of the championship!
RADICAL SR3ย โย Road America ๐บ๐ธ
A radical race for the championship! Riley Gallardo won the race in front of Luke Sutherland (first race in the championship for him) after starting in pole. 3rd place for Erik Axelsson who got two incidents, and ending 0.6 seconds ahead of Simon Speth after a close battle also with David Iglesias, who lost some positions near the end of the race. 5th place for Guillaume Dubois. Those results brought to some amazing standings, with a tie at the top between Gallardo and Speth, both with at 1 win and 3 podiums. 3rd place for Iglesias 8 points behind the top 2, and 4 behind him there’s Axelsson. Yes, after 5 races there are 4 drivers in 12 points. Behind them there’s a huge gap of 42 points from Dubois. Cadwell Park will be the track for the last race of this championship!
Action-packed start
TARK ESTONIA-21ย โย New Jersey ๐บ๐ธ
David Broomhead wins at New Jersey! Another win in his hands, after James Leeder’s wins who this time got a second place just 4.8 seconds behind him. 3rd place for Rick Longano 40 seconds behind P2. Behind him there are Don Debienne and Leonardo Montagnolli, and everone in this race didn’t get any incident except for Jay Gabriel in P8. After this race Broomhead increases his lead to 7 points on Leeder, with 3 wins vs the 2 of James. Then there’s another good battle for the podium, with Gabriel and Longano separated by 3 points. 5th place for Montagnolli, 1 point ahead of Chris Saucier. Mas du Clos will host the last race of the championship!
FORD TRANSITย โย Watkins Glen ๐บ๐ธ
The Transit here at the Glen achieved unbelievable speed records, doing a lap just some seconds under 3 minutes. David Iglesias won the race 5 seconds ahead of Antonio Massad, followed closely by Riley Gallardo, both with an incident, and out of the podium Sergio Mendez and Jari Penttinen. This race had a great loss, since Simon Speth missed the race losing many places. From this Gallardo took advantage, and now he leads by 12 points on Mendez. 11 points behind him sits Penttinenwho has a safe gap from Philip Clegg and Robert Duplantier, who is underperforming if you compare his performances of the other championships. Behind him there’s Speth, while Iglesias is only 9th after being out for 2 races. Next week a 1-hour challenging event at the long layout of Charade will be done, hopefully no one will feel asleep while driving.
An wonderful battle between Michael Martin and Niklas Rauch, followed by some other drivers
F1 2005 RENAULT VS MCLARENย โย Barcellona GP ๐ช๐ธ
Just one race was done this week, and just like the last week Garo Sarafian wins the race! Behind him Matteo Venuti made an ok race despite a kiss to a wall. He took advantage from a crash at the start where the driver in 2nd place in the standings, Lucas Biberacher, was sent off the track taking two incs. At the end he fought with Brigido Hernandez, but the Spaniard won the battle for the podium. After this race now Venuti leads by 35 points on Biberacher, behind him there’s Toni Zachow. 4th place for Clemens Bauer who didn’t race this week, now he is ahead of Jose Leonardo Gil Sierra. Spa-Francorchamps will decide the championship!
ABARTH 500 ASSETTO CORSE โ Red Bull Ring National ๐ฆ๐น
The fight for the championship win is becoming even hotter, with Andrea Giusto overtaking Roberto Accurso for the lead. They are at 510 points, separated by 2 wins (12 vs 10) with 2 and 3 podiums each. Behind them, there’s a huge gap of 20 points until Tim Masson who’s thir with 4 wins and 8 podiums, 1 point ahead of Michal Janak with 2 wins. P5 for Roman Bisanz, who won again after 2 weeks. Silverstone National will be the track for next week!
GP3 SERIES โ Zandvoort ๐ณ๐ฑ

PORSCHE CAYMAN GT4 โ Imola ๐ฎ๐น
Erik Sundstrom is the dominator of Imola! After 5 wins during the week, he got his 20th win of the championship, 12 more than Roberto Accurso who raced just one time, taking a win. 3rd place for Riley Gallardo for the 3rd consecutive time doing a single race, winning it. Roman Bisanz is 4th, with 4 wins and 3 podiums. Behind him there’s Tim Masson who has 4 wins and 6 podiums out of his 19 races. Okayama GP will be the track for the last week!
Erik Axelsson in front of Matteo Venuti and Dimitri Syrkin
GT3 EURO โ Calabogie ๐จ๐ฆ
Calabogie isn’t a fan-favourite track especially with GT3 cars. Only two races were done through the week, and Matteo Venuti, with the old McLaren, and Fredrik Soderstedt (Audi) were the winners of them. The championship now has changed again. Not at the top though, since Fredrik Soderstedt is leading the championship with the maximum amount of points (510). 2nd place for Victor Posada, with 492 points and 4 wins. 3rd place for Matteo Venuti, who managed to win a race in front of the championship leader (yes, he spun three times). 4th place for Lucas Biberacher, followed by Xavier Perronis. Spa-Francorchamps will host the final week of the championship!
GT3 ASIA โ Nordschleife Endurance-Cup ๐ฉ๐ช
People were scared to race at the Nordschleife, so no races counted. Probably someone would prefer driving in the epileptic airport of Paul Ricard.
GT3 AMERICA โ Laguna Seca ๐บ๐ธ
A strange Laguna Seca race, with Luke Bouwmeester who dominated the race, finishing almost 40 seconds ahead of P2, Vicente da Silva. A great battle for the podium, who saw James Leeder taking the lowest step from Emiliano Videla, the championship leader. Now he has 39 points on Pasha Paterson (P5 in the race). 3rd place for Kevin Pruscha, who missed this week. Behind him there are Ryan Thomas and Ramiro Dominguez, who couldn’t compete in other weeks. VIR Full will be the track for the last race of the championship!
